Thorough and practical

The Independent Well Examination Industry (yes, it has become it's own industry) is dominated by large companies who are more interested in ensuring their liability is covered than in planning and executing an effective well servicing project.

An independent well examination is 1- Independent, and 2 - a well examination, so we assess the barrriers in place, not how we feel your company should handle it's business. The role of the IWE is to provide a "second opinion" on well integrity during well activities, and to raise it to the operating company as an early warning system.

Engineering is about trade-offs

When you look at the requirements to be a Independant Well Examiner, there is some room for interpretation in most areas. Our IWE team always has (no matter the size or location of the project) at least one member with International Well Control level 5 (as well as previously level 4 in slickline, coiled tubing, snubbing pressure control, drilling surface stack, drilling subsea stack) and over 25 years experience in managing well operations.

We currently are planning and executing well activities so we know the day to day challenges and current technologies and philosophies used by multiple sizes of companies in various jurisdictions. We understand operational challenges, engineering trade-offs, and the need for quick turnaround when required.

We are engineers and project managers so we have the flexibility to see issues from multiple angles and see ourselves as assisting you in the accomplishment of your goals.

Focus on well servicing

When it comes to Independent Well Examination we focus on well servicing, completions, abandonments, and well interventions as we feel this is a specialized area that requires different analysis than in well construction activities.

We would gladly work with one of our partners if a project combines multiple disciplines, but we are here to provide our clients with advice base don a review of their plans, not to show how great we are by finding a point which we will not move off until the program is the way we want it - the operator is responsible for their activities, we are in the dvice business, not the enforcement business.

"we are in the advice business, not the enforcement business"
